The death toll from a landslide at a dump site in the Philippines rises to 32.

The authorities in the Philippines have recovered 32 bodies from a landfill in the city of Cebu, where a landslide occurred causing injuries and trapping workers. The Cebu Fire Protection Office reported that at least 32 people have died and four more are still missing. The city’s fire department indicated that search and recovery activities are underway. The Binaliw landfill, which receives a thousand tonnes of waste each day, is managed by the private sector. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has ordered its closure.
