The eight European countries and NATO members that deployed forces in Greenland expressed their support for Denmark on Sunday in the face of the United States’ attempts to annex Greenland, stating that the military mission does not pose a threat, following President Donald Trump’s announcement of imposing tariffs. «As part of NATO, we are committed to enhancing security in the Arctic, which is a shared interest in the Atlantic. The Danish exercise ‘Arctic Endurance’, which was planned and conducted with our allies, addresses this need.» Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom stated in a joint communiqué. «We express our solidarity with the Kingdom of Denmark and the people of Greenland.»
