The EU will maintain contact with the new Government of Venezuela to «defend its interests and principles.»

The European Union declared that it will continue its communications with the Government of Delcy Rodríguez, in the same manner it did with Venezuelan authorities it did not recognise, in order to «protect its interests and defend its principles». The spokesperson for the community, Anitta Hipper, stated that they will proceed in the same way they have done thus far, despite not recognising the legitimacy of the president deposed by the United States, Nicolás Maduro, and the same applies to Delcy Rodríguez, who is the new interim president of Venezuela.
