The European Commission establishes the foundations to potentially ban Huawei from strategic infrastructures.

This Tuesday, the European Commission unveiled new legislation on European cybersecurity, which establishes the groundwork for the possible exclusion of Chinese companies Huawei and ZTE in the construction of critical infrastructures. Since 2019, the Government has deemed both companies a threat to security in Europe. In light of the resistance from certain countries, such as Spain, to impose restrictions, a regulation was presented today to promote their prohibition in essential sectors. Cybersecurity threats are risks that affect our democracy, economy, and way of life.
