The first tractor protests against Mercosur and the CAP are taking place.

Farmers have begun mobilisations with tractors and roadblocks in regions such as Murcia and La Rioja, as part of the «super Thursday» of demonstrations organised by the agricultural associations Asaja, COAG and UPA in opposition to the agreement with Mercosur and cuts to the Common Agricultural Policy. The agricultural associations have scheduled protests in various towns across the country to support the farming sector, although the demonstrations in Madrid and Seville have been cancelled. According to the Directorate General of Traffic, the convoys of tractors have caused blockages on the roads in La Rioja and the region of Murcia. Protests with tractors have also been organised today in Santiago de Compostela, Bilbao, Vitoria, Pamplona and in several places in Asturias and Cantabria. There will also be demonstrations by producers in Castilla y León, Andalucía and in the city of Castilla-La Mancha; protests will take place in Murcia, Alicante and Valencia, as well as in the Canary Islands and in the Balearics.
