The Government announces a reduction in fuel taxes of up to 30 cents per litre.

This Friday, the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, declared that he will reduce taxes on fuels «to the minimum allowed by the European Union,» which will enable consumers to save up to 30 cents per litre, depending on the type of fuel they use. He announced that a package of tax deductions will begin to be applied to the Income Tax for Individuals (IRPF) aimed at the installation of solar panels, charging stations, and heat pumps. This proposal is part of the second pillar of the comprehensive plan approved to address the economic effects of the conflict in the Middle East. Citizens who opt for investments that promote the decarbonisation of the economy and energy sovereignty will be able to deduct these types of expenses on their IRPF declaration. New grants have been established for the adaptation of buildings, the implementation of renewable energies, and the increase of electric storage capacity through batteries or the declaration of public interest for hydropower pumping. All actions included in this royal decree-law are aligned with the strategy that the Government has been implementing to decarbonise and electrify the economy.
