Madrid, 17 February (EFE).- This Tuesday, the Council of Ministers approved a royal decree law that includes over 7 billion euros in aid for those impacted by the storms. The 12,400 evacuated residents will receive 150 euros per person per day. A total of 2 billion euros will be allocated to municipalities for the rehabilitation of infrastructure, along with other initiatives outlined by the First Vice-President and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, in a press conference. Montero stated that the mobilised funds will help repair damages in the municipalities, compensate more than 12,400 evacuated individuals, and mitigate the impact on homes, businesses, as well as the agricultural and fishing sectors. The decree plans to increase the amount of compensation for individuals who have suffered personal and material damage to their homes and businesses. The direct grants of 150 euros per person per day for those who have been evacuated can be combined with other aid. Montero noted that all these aids will be exempt from taxation under personal income tax (IRPF) and corporate tax.
The Government approves aid of more than 7,000 million for those affected by the storms.
