The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration has specified that it will not be necessary to master the official languages to obtain the initial authorisation for residence and work in the context of the extraordinary regularisation. Sources from the ministry have issued this statement following the announcement from the Catalan Government, which communicated that it had made a modification to the preliminary text, which has not yet been approved. This modification seeks to take into account knowledge of this language at the time of renewing the initial authorisation, and ERC also claimed the inclusion of this measure in the final text that will be presented.
The Government clarifies that Catalan will not be mandatory for obtaining regularisation.
