The Government has rejected the claim that the US is using the military bases in Rota and Morón de la Frontera for its offensives against Iran and has stated that it will not give its consent. The Defence Minister, Margarita Robles, has pointed out that the agreement signed with Washington for the use of the bases allows operations within a framework of international legality, although not when an army acts unilaterally.
