The Government of Venezuela requests an emergency meeting with the UN following the attacks by the US, and Maduro’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Caracas (EFE).- On Saturday, the Government of Venezuela requested a meeting of the UN Security Council, following bombings carried out by the United States in various areas of the country, including Caracas. In a letter sent to the president of the Security Council, the ambassador of Somalia, Abukar Dahir Osman, requested Caracas to convene a meeting to address the «acts of aggression» by the United States towards Venezuela. This letter was also presented to the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres. The Venezuelan Defence Minister, Vladimir Padrino López, reported on Saturday about a missile attack launched from American helicopters targeting civilian areas in Caracas and elsewhere in the country, noting that they are attempting to locate the injured or deceased. Padrino López, in a video shared on social media, asserted that this invasion is an affront that the nation has suffered, driven by greed for strategic resources. The Defence Minister indicated that missiles and rockets were launched from helicopters and described the attack as an assault.
