Madrid (EFE).- In February, inflation remained at 2.3%, the same as the previous month, as the reduction in electricity costs balanced out the price increases in the restaurant and food sectors. The National Statistics Institute has confirmed the information that was anticipated two weeks ago, which shows that the year-on-year inflation rate remains stable compared to January. The data for March is expected to reflect the impact of the war in Iran on prices. Core inflation reached 2.7%, representing an increase of one-tenth compared to the previous month and is the highest figure in the last 18 months.
The INE confirms that inflation remained at 2.3% in February due to the drop in electricity prices.
