Tehran (EFE).- The Iranian leader, Masud Pezeshkian, described the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States as a step forward, although he emphasised that Tehran will not abandon uranium enrichment for peaceful purposes. “These talks represented a step forward.” “Dialogue has been our usual way of addressing issues peacefully,” Pezeshkian stated in a message on the social media platform X. Furthermore, the Iranian president reaffirmed his nation’s right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes, in accordance with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, rejecting the United States’ demands that Iran undertake no enrichment. Pezeshkian also criticised the tone of U.S. President Donald Trump, who has indicated that if Tehran does not reach an agreement, he may carry out military action against it. “The Iranian people always respond to respect with respect, but do not accept the language of force,” asserted Pezeshkian.
