The president of Iran, Masud Pezeshkian, expressed his gratitude to Spain for its opposition to the attacks by the United States and Israel, noting that this stance demonstrates that there is ethics in the West. He highlighted his recognition and appreciation for the position of the Spanish authorities. The president of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, stated that Spain will not become complicit in something harmful to the world, referring to the war in the Middle East, merely out of fear of retaliation from anyone. The Government has also rejected the use of the Spanish military bases in Rota and Morón for the conflict in Iran. This stance has led to threats from the Republican leader in the US and has received messages of support from the presidents of the main EU institutions and from European allies.
