Madrid. While efforts are being carried out to locate bodies in the trains involved in the accident in Adamuz (Córdoba), 42 of the 43 victims have been identified. The investigation has discovered marks on the wheels of the carriages that were in front of the one that derailed, and new audio recordings of communications between the Atocha control centre and the involved trains have been made public. The Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, has indicated that marks have been found on the bogies of the first five carriages of the Iryo, and it is likely that the two or three trains that operated earlier showed marks. However, the trains that travelled through that section of the track more than an hour before the accident do not show the wheel marks present on those that passed afterwards, including the accident train. The question to determine, according to Puente, is whether there was any object on the track or if the track was beginning to deteriorate.
The latest on the Adamuz accident: Investigators are looking into the marks on the wheels and new audio recordings have emerged.
