José Ángel González, the second-in-command of the National Police, has submitted his resignation following the acceptance by a court in Madrid of a complaint filed against him by an officer for a sexual assault offence. Sources from the Ministry of the Interior have reported that the acting deputy director of the Police has informed Fernando Grande-Marlaska, the Minister of the Interior, of his decision to step down from his position.
