The pope urges to «stop the spiral of violence» in the Middle East before it becomes «irreparable».

Pope Leo XIV has called for an end to the «spiral of violence» in the Middle East and Iran «before it transforms into an irreversible catastrophe,» highlighting the «moral responsibility» of the nations involved in the crisis. «I am anxiously following everything that is happening in the Middle East and in Iran at these critical moments.» «Stability and peace are not achieved through threats or with weaponry that causes destruction and death,» the Pope stated from the window of the Apostolic Palace. He emphasised that stability can be reached «only» through reasonable and responsible dialogue. For this reason, he urged the nations involved in this crisis to take on the «moral responsibility» to put an end to the escalation of the conflict.
