The PP and Vox maintain their willingness to reach agreements in Extremadura and Aragón despite Abascal’s anger.

Madrid. Despite the frustration expressed by Santiago Abascal, leader of Vox, regarding a document created by the PP to define the regional agreements, both parties remain willing to reach agreements in Extremadura and Aragón and have assured that negotiations are already underway. Sources in Génova have stated that they see no reason to be pessimistic and have downplayed Abascal’s statements, in which he expressed his discontent with the ‘Framework Document to Organise Agreements and Provide Stable Governments in Autonomous Spain’ drafted by the PP and published on Monday, shortly after both parties announced a restart of negotiations to form a government in both regions. Sources from Vox have reported that on Tuesday, conversations were resumed, although they clarified that it was a dialogue initiated by the PP, aimed at emphasising the need for negotiation. According to Génova, despite the objections of the Vox leader, they have not observed any opposition within the party to the content of the document, which they claim was sent to Abascal before being made public, nor have they found any obstacle or manifestation of rejection towards the ten principles proposed in the text. For this reason, they currently do not understand what is troubling Vox, the aforementioned sources indicate, and what is becoming evident is that it is not the PP that is hindering negotiations.
