Madrid, 18 February. This Wednesday, the General Secretary of the PP, Miguel Tellado, called for the resignation of the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, in Congress following the resignation of José Ángel González, the deputy head of the National Police. This occurred after a court in Madrid accepted a lawsuit brought against him by an officer for an offence of sexual assault. Tellado made this statement during the Government’s accountability session in Congress. In an interpellation to the First Vice-President, María Jesús Montero, Tellado has labelled the Government as the protectors of criminals and claimed they ruin everything they handle. The number two to Alberto Núñez Feijóo stated that the left opposes the ban on the burka but supports covering up the rapes committed by a police officer.
