António Costa, President of the European Council, stated that the European Union is prepared to protect itself from coercion, referring to the tariff threats from the United States towards nations that have deployed troops in Greenland. He highlighted the importance of continuing to collaborate with Washington on matters of mutual interest. «We are ready to protect ourselves, our member states, our citizens, and our businesses from coercion. The EU has the capability and resources necessary to achieve this,» Costa affirmed during the plenary session of the European Parliament.
