Caracas (EFE).- This Thursday, Jorge Rodríguez, president of the National Assembly of Venezuela, reported on the release of individuals, which includes both Venezuelans and foreigners, although the number was not specified. This act is presented as a gesture to strengthen peace and coexistence in the country. Rodríguez mentioned that this process of release is happening at this moment and expressed his gratitude to José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. He addressed the Kingdom of Qatar and the state entities that responded to the call of the interim president of Venezuela, who assumed office following the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro by the United States. Rodríguez stated at a press conference that this gesture from the Bolivarian Government should be seen as a contribution to ensure that our republic maintains its peaceful life and continues in the pursuit of prosperity. He also affirmed that there has been no communication with any extremist group, indicating that they represent the denial of politics. The president of the Parliament emphasised that they are in dialogue with political institutions, parties, and political organisations that respect what the Constitution establishes. Moreover, he highlighted that the prisoner releases are a unilateral gesture by the Government.
