The increase in violence in Iran that began on 28 February has affected energy prices in Spain, causing a rise of over 30% in the cost of diesel at Spanish filling stations and an increase of nearly 10% in the price of petrol during the first three weeks of the conflict. Data from the National Commission on Markets and Competition indicate that on Tuesday 17 March, the average price of diesel was €1.898 per litre, compared to €1.45 on 28 February.
