In the first quarter of the year, housing costs increased by 14.3% compared to the same period the previous year, reaching a price of €1,987 per square metre, according to valuations by the company Tinsa by Accumin. Compared to the previous quarter, housing costs rose by 3.2% in quarterly terms, with increases in areas close to employment centres and tourist destinations. Since the peaks reached in 2007, the price is currently 4.5% below, while it has risen by 68% since its low following the collapse in the summer of 2015. When adjusted for inflation, the value has increased by 32% since the lowest point in 2015, but it is still 34% below the peak levels reached in 2007.
