Bangkok (EFE).- The Bhumjaithai Party (BJT), led by Anutin Charnvirakul, is leading the vote count following the elections in Thailand, surpassing the People’s Party (PP). With approximately 30% of the votes counted, the BJT has secured 32% of the votes and has ensured 178 out of the 500 seats at stake; the PP follows with 18% of the votes and 70 seats, closely followed by Pheu Thai (PT), which has 67 seats, according to preliminary results from the Election Commission. Anutin took power in September, after a period in which his predecessors, Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Srettha Thavisin, of the PT, were ousted in rulings by the Constitutional Court.
