The Prosecutor’s Office has expressed its opposition to the release of former minister José Luis Ábalos and his former adviser Koldo García before the trial related to the face mask case, scheduled to begin on 7 April, due to the risk that they might flee. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has sent two documents requesting that the preventive detention of the two defendants continues, who have been in the Soto del Real prison since 27 November.
The Prosecutor’s Office opposes Ábalos and Koldo being released from prison before the trial.
