Tehran/Geneva (EFE).- On Tuesday, Iran’s leader, Ali Khamenei, ruled out negotiating with the United States regarding the missiles of the Islamic Republic, arguing that a country without deterrent weaponry is vulnerable. «The Americans claim that you shouldn’t possess certain types or ranges of missiles, when this matter only concerns the Iranian people,» stated the cleric during a meeting in Tehran. Hours earlier, Khamenei criticised the United States’ stance in the discussions regarding Iran’s nuclear programme, asserting that the US President, Donald Trump, would not be able to dismantle the Islamic Republic. The United States «claims: ‘We will negotiate about your nuclear energy and the outcome of the negotiation must be that you do not have this energy’,» Khamenei denounced during a meeting in Tehran with representatives from East Azerbaijan province. «If there must be a negotiation, predetermining the outcome is a mistaken act,» he affirmed.
The supreme leader of Iran closes the door to negotiating its missiles with the United States and downplays Trump’s threats.
