The train drivers have called a three-day strike from 9th to 11th February following the accidents.

Madrid, (EFE).- The train drivers’ union Semaf has announced a three-day strike, scheduled for the 9th, 10th, and 11th of February, as the legal option left to demand the restoration of safety standards within the railway system and to ensure the protection of both professionals and users. Semaf points out that the strike will affect all train drivers from various companies in the sector, who will be called upon to participate in the stoppages, following the accidents that occurred in Adamuz and Gelida. The union emphasises that these incidents represent a turning point to demand the implementation of the necessary measures to ensure safety in railway operations. They have begun the legal proceedings to carry out the strike across the different companies. Semaf argues that to ensure safety, it is essential to address the reports sent to those responsible for maintaining the infrastructure, which detail the deterioration of the tracks in several sections.
