The UN demands an investigation into the attack on the school in Minab and speaks of a possible war crime.

Geneva.- Volker Türk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, has called for an investigation into the attack on the school in Minab, Iran, which occurred on the first day of the conflict between the United States and Israel. The spokesperson for his office, Ravina Shamdasani, indicated that dozens of girls lost their lives or suffered injuries when the school was hit during school hours. Shamdasani mentioned that attacks on civilians or civilian property, as well as indiscriminate attacks, could be considered war crimes. However, she emphasised that complete information regarding the attack in Minab is not yet available. The representative stated that the responsibility to investigate lies with the forces that conducted the attack on the girls’ primary school, referring to Israel and the United States. She urged them to make the findings of the investigations public and to ensure accountability and compensation for the victims.
