The railway unions are awaiting a call from the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility this Sunday for a new meeting, with the aim of reaching an agreement that avoids the planned strike from 9 to 11 February, in response to concerns about train safety following incidents in Adamuz and Gelida. However, the ministry has yet to confirm whether there will be a new meeting tomorrow, as reported this Saturday, adding that they are «open to dialogue» and will inform about any updates regarding the situation. Following the last meeting between the main railway sector unions and the ministry, which took place this Friday and ended without an agreement, the planned three-day strike of 24 hours for next week, from 9 to 11 February, remains in place. Conversations with representatives from the three unions began last Wednesday, resulting in a total of three meetings by Friday. The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility was present at all of them, accompanied by the presidents of Adif and Renfe, as well as other senior officials. According to the unions, the last meeting did not define the measures they are requesting, although they admit it was «better oriented» than the previous one in terms of safety and the maintenance of the railway system.
