Washington. This Tuesday, the United States conducted an attack on Iranian missile facilities near the Strait of Hormuz. The US Central Command released a map indicating the location of the anti-ship missile facilities that were targeted. The armed forces explained that they used bunker-busting munitions against the sites where the Persian state stored this arsenal. According to Central Command, these missiles were positioned, posing a threat to international navigation in the strait. The statement from the US armed forces came hours after Tehran announced the death of its Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, in an Israeli airstrike. The US offensive took place after President Donald Trump criticized his NATO allies for not joining together in an effort to ensure free passage through the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz has been temporarily closed by Iran since 15 March due to military tensions, impacting the oil transport of nations such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Iraq.
