Washington. On Tuesday, the United States Army destroyed an Iranian drone that approached the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. This ship was sent by Washington to the Arabian Sea along with its strike group to increase pressure on Iran. The drone, a Shahed-139, continued on its trajectory towards the aircraft carrier despite de-escalation actions taken by US forces, which led to an F-35 fighter jet aboard the Abraham Lincoln shooting it down, according to Captain Tim Hawkins of US Central Command in a report to Fox News. According to Hawkins, the aircraft carrier was sailing approximately 500 miles south of the coast of Iran in the Arabian Sea at the time of the incident, in which no US military personnel were injured.
