Washington (EFE).- The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that lawmakers who believe Washington should abandon its bases in Spain and other NATO countries are correct. He considered that NATO has seen a decline in its prestige, as they should be working on matters relating to the Strait of Hormuz, from which they obtain part of their energy. This was Trump’s response when questioned about the comments made by Senator Lindsey Graham, who suggested that the United States should consider the possibility of withdrawing its military bases. Trump expressed that numerous senators and representatives, who were previously supporters of the Alliance, are dissatisfied because NATO has not taken action.
Trump considers justified the idea of contemplating a withdrawal of bases in Spain and other allies.
