Trump says that the leaders of Iran «called» the US and «want to negotiate».

New York. This Sunday, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that leaders from Iran reached out to him and expressed their interest in negotiating, after having threatened military action in response to the violence during protests in their country. «A meeting is being organised, Iran has contacted us. They want to reach an agreement,» Trump commented to a group of reporters on the presidential plane, indicating that he is receiving updates on the developments of the protests and that his administration «will make a decision.» «We may have to intervene before the meeting,» he added. The leader expressed that the Iranian government «is starting» to cross a line, as «there have been people who have lost their lives,» which he attributed to the dominance of «violence» exercised by their authorities. He added: «Some of the protesters died due to a stampede; there was a crowd, and others were shot.»
