Washington. In his State of the Union address, US President Donald Trump highlighted the successes of his Administration in the economic sphere and increased uncertainty regarding his trade policy by suggesting that the newly announced tariffs would not require Congressional approval. In his speech before a joint session of Congress, Trump described the Supreme Court’s decision that struck down part of his «reciprocal tariffs» as «unfortunate». On the same day, following the judicial setback, Trump signed an executive order to implement new global tariffs of 10%. The Republican stated that these new customs duties are «more complex, but probably better, which will lead to a stronger solution than before.»
Trump sows even more uncertainty about his tariffs in his speech before Congress.
