The failure in Rodalies consisted of two outages of the traffic control centre system of Adif, which disorganised the service schedules, leading to unstable operations. The systems of the Centralised Traffic Control Centre of Adif in Barcelona experienced two interruptions at 07:10 and 08:06, which halted the Rodalies service and medium-distance services. Although both incidents were resolved, the network has been operating with irregular frequencies, and delays have been reported. On 26 January, two incidents at this control centre, caused by a software error, resulted in disorder in the railway service in Catalonia and led to the dismissal of two senior officials from Adif and Renfe.
