Ukraine and the USA conclude meetings focused on post-war reconstruction.

Representatives from Ukraine and the United States concluded a meeting in Geneva that lasted less than four hours, focused on the rehabilitation of the country’s infrastructure in the post-war phase. Although it was anticipated that this meeting would be trilateral, Moscow did not send a delegation to the Swiss city. According to the TASS news agency, Kirill Dmitriev, the Kremlin’s special envoy for economic cooperation, travelled to Geneva and arrived at the hotel where the meeting was taking place. However, the Russian Diplomatic Mission in Geneva has not confirmed whether there was any contact with any of the delegations present. The United States delegation was led by Steve Witkoff, the White House special envoy for peace processes, and Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of President Donald Trump. Before and after their meeting with the Ukrainian representatives, they also met with negotiators from Iran to discuss the Islamic Republic’s nuclear programme. The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Rustem Umerov, Chairman of the National Security Council, along with David Arajamia, leader of the majority parliamentary group, Economy Minister Oleksí Sobolev, and his second in command, Darina Marchak. Umerov commented that they will conduct an analysis of the ‘prosperity package’, which includes measures for financial support and the recovery of Ukraine, tools to foster investment, and structures for long-term cooperation.
