Venezuela announces the return of an oil tanker to its waters in a joint operation with the USA.

Caracas reported that, in a joint operation with the United States, the oil tanker that had departed without payment or authorisation from the authorities is returning to the country’s waters. According to an announcement from the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and the state oil company PDVSA, this is a collaboration between Caracas and Washington for the return of the ship Minerva. The official statement adds that the vessel is on its way back to Venezuelan waters for its protection and the corresponding actions. Caracas made this announcement following the statements from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who indicated that forces from his nation detained the tanker ‘Olina’ in Caribbean waters in collaboration with the interim authorities of Venezuela, after the ship left the country without the proper authorisation. This oil tanker is now heading back to Venezuela.
