Venezuela will deliver between 30 and 50 million barrels of oil to the US, according to Trump.

Washington.- This Tuesday, the US President, Donald Trump, stated that the government of Venezuela, led by interim president Delcy Rodríguez, is prepared to offer between 30 and 50 million barrels of oil to be sold in the US market. In a post on Truth Social, the president described these millions of barrels as «oil approved in the United States.» Trump mentioned that he will oversee the funds obtained from the oil sale in the local market «to ensure that they are used for the benefit of the Venezuelan people and the United States.» The decision by Washington to allow access to Venezuelan oil comes after the capture of President Nicolás Maduro on January 3, during a military operation in Caracas and its surroundings that resulted in more than fifty fatalities. According to the Republican, the plan for oil extraction will be implemented immediately by the Department of Energy, under the direction of Secretary Chris Wright. Trump noted that between 30 and 50 million barrels will be transported in storage ships directly to the discharge ports in the United States, although he did not specify a timeline for the oil delivery.
