Hours earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had announced attacks on 27 US military facilities in the Middle East and targets in Israel, promising to avenge the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei due to the offensive by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic. According to what was shared by the Tasnim agency, linked to the Revolutionary Guard, the attacks focused not only on the 27 US bases, whose locations were not specified, but also targeted military facilities in Israel, including some in Tel Aviv. For its part, the Israeli army issued a statement warning of a new series of missiles aimed at Israel and requested that the population remain in safe places until further notice, providing no additional information. The Qatari news network Al Jazeera reported that around 7:40 local time «at least 11 explosions» were heard in Doha, a situation confirmed by residents of the Qatari capital, although further details are not yet known. Additionally, Al Jazeera indicated that alert sirens had been activated in Kuwait and reported explosions in Dubai. The Qatari Ministry of Defence reported that it managed to intercept up to 18 ballistic missiles that were aimed at different areas of the country.
