Yolanda Díaz will not attend the founding event of the Sumar coalition.

Yolanda Díaz, the Second Vice-President and leader of Sumar in the coalition government, has announced that she will not be present at the event for the restructuring of the Sumar alliance taking place next Saturday. According to her words, «it is the moment for political parties,» and she has not revealed whether she will run again as a candidate. In an interview, she mentioned that she will not attend the event for the re-founding of Sumar or the scheduled conversation between Gabriel Rufián and Emilio Delgado, citing the same reason in both cases. «I believe that what can develop today in Spain is significant. It is crucial, and I believe that the public should give time to the political parties to determine their actions and inspire hope in progressive people,» commented Díaz, who has not disclosed whether she is willing to be a candidate again in the new Sumar project. During Saturday’s event, the four parties that make up the Sumar space in the government coalition with the PSOE will officially announce their decision to stand together in the upcoming general elections with a new project that abandons the Sumar label.
