Zelensky is willing to accept new de-escalation measures in Abu Dhabi.

The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that he is open to considering new actions to reduce tensions during trilateral talks with representatives from the United States and Russia, which will take place in Abu Dhabi. «We will support de-escalation initiatives if the Americans present proposals in this regard,» Zelensky affirmed during a press conference with NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, who was in Kyiv on Tuesday, after Russia resumed attacks against Ukraine’s energy system, despite the Kremlin announcing a ceasefire on such bombings. The Ukrainian president stated that the ceasefire suggestion put forward last week by the President of the United States and his Russian counterpart was considered «reasonable»; moreover, he accused Moscow of taking advantage of the pause in attacks to stockpile more missiles and drones, with the aim of launching a number of ballistic missiles, which were primarily targeted at Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The NATO Secretary General considered the recent Russian attack to be a signal for peace. Additionally, he mentioned that he committed to Zelensky to do everything possible to ensure that as many countries of the Alliance as possible help strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses.
