The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the administration of former United States President Donald Trump has suggested ending the conflict by June next year. «They have expressed their intention to achieve everything by June.» «The Americans are suggesting that the parties should end the conflict this summer, and they are likely to exert pressure on them according to their own agenda.» Zelensky referred to the upcoming elections in the United States, elections that «will hold greater relevance» for American politicians than international issues. In November of this year, the renewal of the US Congress will take place, coinciding with the elections scheduled for 3 November. Meanwhile, the Senate will also experience a partial renewal on that date, with 35 of the 100 seats in that chamber up for grabs. In the meantime, Zelensky mentioned that they have presented US representatives with a detailed plan to achieve peace, which includes the steps each of the involved parties must take. The Ukrainian president added: «If the Russians are willing to end the war, it is crucial to establish the conditions.»
