Spain partially lifts the confinement of poultry due to the favourable evolution of avian influenza.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has announced the reduction of confinement restrictions for poultry due to the improvement in the epidemiological situation of avian influenza in Spain. The resolution, published in the BOE, indicates that no cases have been detected in wild birds. Confinement remains in place in areas identified as high risk and supervision, covering 1,201 municipalities across all autonomous communities, including Ceuta and Melilla. In Andalusia, the restrictions continue in 197 municipalities, while in Aragon there are 128, in the Canary Islands 1, in Cantabria 31, in Castile and Leon 250, in Castile-La Mancha 18, in Catalonia 224, in the Community of Madrid 16, in the Valencian Community 138, in Extremadura 99, in Galicia 40, in the Balearic Islands 14, and in La Rioja 6. In Navarre, the confinement status affects 12 localities, while in the Basque Country it impacts six municipalities, in the Principality of Asturias eight, and in the Region of Murcia eleven.
